    Master of Science in Real Estate

    The Master of Science in Real Estate degree is a demanding, interdisciplinary program of study combining business management skills and breadth with an understanding of how real estate markets work and how three-dimensional place-bound attributes of real estate products affect their performance.  Overarching these three interdisciplinary areas of study is a focus on how behaviors of people involved in making decisions about real estate investment and development affect desired outcomes. 

    This degree is focused on students who intend to make lifelong careers as professionals in the broad field of real estate and requires:

    72-credit program that full time students finish in 21 months

    42 credits of core courses including a Capstone Project or Capstone Studio

    6-14 credits of Real Estate electives

    16-24 credits of interdisciplinary electives

    Internship (optional and strongly encouraged)

    There is no thesis or professional project required for this degree

    Master of Urban Planning - Real Estate Specialization

    This Specialization is specifically focused on students pursuing a Master of Urban Planning degree but is available to students pursuing other Master level degrees within the University of Washington.  The Real Estate Specialization appeals to students pursuing a career in an ancillary field, such as Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Business, Law, or Public Administration, but who intend to interact directly with real estate professionals throughout their careers.

    Students pursuing a Master of Urban Planning degree are required to earn:

             A minimum of 18 graduate real estate credits

             3 core courses and 2 real estate elective courses

            Optional Capstone

    Students pursuing a Master’s degree other than the MUP, are not required to do a thesis or professional project. A Capstone Project or Capstone Studio is optional.
